Case Study - Barn Conversion

In 2007, Kingfisher Project Developments took on the challenge of creating a beautiful home from a run down, badly damaged 600 year old barn situated in an overgrown site complete with 40ft trees and poor access.

Eight months later, the trees have been removed and the grounds landscaped to highlight this unique and individually designed barn conversion.

"You have brought all the qualities and character to life in this 600 year old Listed building through your careful planning and conscientious work, and the manner in which you dealt with tradesmen, the Local Authority, and the material suppliers was second to none." Mr and Mrs L. Hertfordshire

The barn itself now encompasses a multitude of features all created by the Kingfisher team, including a dramatic hand built oak staircase.

The well thought through, practical internal layout ensures maximum comfort. For example, the light shining through the central galleried landing window streams into the bedroom due to clever use of internal glass.

The barn's high roof allowed sufficient space for a first floor to be constructed, giving the property two bedrooms and a stunning designer bathroom. The quality of the design, the attention to detail and the application of the brief continue throughout the home, from installation of a high tech new kitchen to the central living space.

Delivered on time, on spec and in budget, the owners are more than delighted with their new home.
